This Week
First I would like to say how proud I am of my godson who is being bullied and has this week given a video interview to the police, he was subjected to what is known as a 'happy slapping' where the bullies filmed it on their mobile phones, what bastards!
Well here's hoping that this will be the end of it for him and maybe others. Well done to him for being brave enough to make the complaint to the police.
On Monday there was a traffic accident near my place of work, two busses had a head on crash, what made my blood boil was the imbeciles who took photos with their mobile phones of the bus driver, who was trapped in his cab, and then posted them on the internet! What morons!! The bus driver in question has since udergone operations to try and repair his shattered leg, hope he makes a good recovery.
Thursday night I went to the City Hall and watched The Lord of the Dance, that was one hell of a great show, if you have not seen it and you get the chance go, I promise you it is well worth it, it is fantastic.
We have snow!! Ok I admit it that it's only a small amount compared to what some of you out there have, but it still managed to cause havoc! But we now have rain so the snow is on its way out already, so now we have that horrible slushy snow, and I didn't get chance to build me a snowman :-(
We are in the process of choosing our holiday for next year, trying to decide whether to go on a guided tour or a fly drive. Pros and cons, obviously on a guided tour we will not have to drive, but then we have to follow a strict itenery, where as if we go fly drive we will have more time to do what we want and go at a more leisurely pace. We are hoping to visit San Fransico, the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, I am really looking forward to planning this holiday, the down part is we wont be going till Feb/March 2008! And it also means no more cheap deals this year, I mean can I survive with no sun, sea and sand for the rest of this year!!!!
Plans for this weekend involve doing as little as possible! Reading and drinking hot chocolate curled up in front of the fire, bliss pure bliss.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Police round here wouldn't do owt. Had em round me house this morning - see post - and they were as helpful as a dead rat. Still, brave of him to fight back the proper way. Hope it pans out.
lord of the dance????
as if cliff wasn't bad enough!
with you on the whole bus issue!
kids are becoming animals. Each should be held accountable for his/her actions. But who will force the issue. Our society has reached an apogee.
as for the vacation. I would love to have a guided tour ... just sit back and let someone else have the reins. Never done that before.
Yeah, I agree with what Pamela said about the apogee thingy. I will have to Google it to see what it means :) What is it with kids and a lot of adults too these days? What a disgusting thing to do to some poor kid. I hope he is feeling better. My nephew was being bullied and they isolated HIM from the class so he could study rather than sort out the bullies. It is time for a return to good ole clip round the ear if you ask me. All this touchy feeley nonsense doesn't work.
grrr... bullies...some never grow out of it, either.
drive yourself...there is SO MUCH to see in the southwest...near Grand Canyon there is Monument Valley, there is Bryce and Zion lots of Indian ruins that you might not get to see...and it's fun to stop where you want, lots of arts, pottery and blankets for sale roadside, etc.
Anything bad that happens there seems to always be people standing around with cell phones getting video of it. If news organizations and websites would stop paying them for that video maybe it would stop.
Some guy got a video of them performing CPR on Anna Nicole Smith and sold it for $500,000 US Dollars!
KC was bullied horribly in grades 7 and 8. KK was beat up at a park by Hubby's neice, and 2 other girls. The neice never apologized, and the police didn't seem to want to get involved. It seems to be getting worse. Kids should feel safe at school, and the bullies should be held accountable. I think that if more parents got involved, and/or knew what their kids were up to, we might be able to curb this behavour.
Hope your weekend was relaxing!
I do think that a lot of parents either don't know that their child is a bully, or they are too afraid of their own kids to do anything. Very sad. Good for you boy for speaking up!!
Enjoy your hot choc, now. I'm envious of the fireplace!
Nothing more blissful on a cold, snowy day than a good book, hot chocolate and a blazing fireplace. Works miracles on weekends and weekday evenings too :)
Blink a few times and it will be next year on a warm beach. Your vacation sounds delightful!
