I want my mummy

I am poorly and I want my mummy! But she is not here any more.

Remember when you where little and you got ill all you wanted was your mummy? I know there are quite a few people out there who never had the love of a mother and I am so sorry for you, and I wish you could all have experienced that special love that only a mum can give.

Well I am poorly and I want my mummy to make me feel better, she used to put me to bed with a hot water bottle, fetch me nice things to eat and drink, read to me, sit with me, cuddle me she made me feel safe, nothing was too much trouble for her, all she wanted was to make me feel better and to help me get better.

So now I am off to bed with my hot water bottle, after taking the antibiotics, the pain killers and the anti spasmodic tablets, with a hot drink of horlicks and I hope to be able to go to sleep.

What's wrong with me you might be asking, really you don't want to know! You sure you want to know? Oh well I suffer from diverticular disease, not nice look it up!

Had it for 15 years and thankfully only get an attack every now and then, this is the first one in 18 months so I not doing too bad, but when I do get an attack boy do I know about it!

Which really makes me feel for those who suffer from any illness/disease, people who live and cope with MS, Diabetes's, Arthritis, IBS, Cohen's Disease the list goes on, these people mainly suffer in silence, they don't whinge and get mardy, they battle on every day, well done to you, I applaud you all.

So I am off to me bed now, without he comforting arms of my mummy, good night all, sleep well x

Low and Down

Not been about much this week, I feel so exhausted and haven't been sleeping too well, you know the nights, waking up nearly every other hour!

I recently got in touch with an old friend of mine, through the friends reunited web site, we met when my family moved onto the same street in Blackpool in 1973. We had a disagrement some years ago over us attending the wedding of her ex. I really missed her but was so pleased to get back in touch again after so many years.

So we have been e-mailing and getting up to date with each others news. I told her about my brother-in-law who died on the 13th March, and then she gave me her bad news. Her brother died on the 10th March, her birthday, at her home and she found him, he was so young 44 or 45 not quite sure, how sad is that, I just can't beleive it. It was his funeral today and I have been thinking about her and her family, love you all girl.

Tomorrow is the service for my brother-in-law, Ron, he was cremated on wednesday, this was only attended by his wife, my sister, her son, Ron's brother and his son and my eldest sister and her husband. So friday we will be 'celebrating' Ron's life, something I am not at all looking forward to at all, there will be a service at the funeral parlour and then back to the sister's house.

I will be meeting members of my family who I do not want to meet, I do not want to see or talk to them but for the memory of Ron I will do this, my stomach is in knots I feel so sick thinking about it, and this is the reason I have not been sleeping, and why I feel so low and down. Also my husband is not welcome due to family fall outs! My son and his partner will be coming with me which I am thankful for.

Did I say in the last post enough gloom and doom and here I am again! Sorry about this but such is life eh! One of the songs that will be played at the service is 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life', so that is what I must do eh!

Enough now, time to think about moving onwards and upwards, feel free to give me a kick up the backside. Will try and catch up with you all out there and hope someone manages to bring a smile to my face!

Enough Gloom and Doom time for a giggle

There were two nuns...
One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM) and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL).
It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.
SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.
SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.
SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do?
SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.
SM: It's not working.
SL: Of course it's not working.

The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.
SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.
SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way.

He cannot follow us both.
So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.

Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.
Then Sister Logical arrives.
SM: Sister Logical ! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened!
SL: The only logical thing happened.
The man couldn't follow us both,so he followed me
SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?
SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.
SM: And?
SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me
SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?
SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.
SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?
SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM: Oh, no! What happened then?
SL: Isn't it logical, Sister?
A nun with her dress up can run faster than man with his pants down .

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty,

you should be ashamed of yourself!

Just where does time go?

Where does time go? There was a time that I would come home from work, get changed, jump on the computer and blog. The dog would be sat behind me drumming his paws with his legs crossed waiting to go for his walk!

I just don't seem to have the time to get on the computer, doesn't help that himself has yet another new PC game, and yes it is another football game Fifa Manager! and get this, he got it on my birthday!

So I am back to the hum drum of work, can't say I have missed it! But I do enjoy it, well perhaps not the work itself but the work mates. I will miss Mr Cappy who will be off for a good few weeks recovering from his up and coming operation, wishing you all the best for that one Cappy and I really hope that it will be the last.

Bad news arrived this week, my sister's husband died tuesday morning, he was four weeks away from his 55th birthday. He was a lovely man so kind and laid back, he had a cracking sense of humour and nothing seemed to phase him, he will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Goodbye our Ron x x

Well I am off to catch up on all your blogs now so see you there!!!!!!!

I am so looking forward to this holiday and I know it is such a long way off but we need to save up now for it, so as I have said previously we will not be taking any more hols this year!!!!

So nearer the time if you have any advice on driving in the USA or places that are on our route that we must see I will be asking you for them.

So far this week is going ok, not getting out and about as much as I want to, but hopefully we will manage a day at the sea side on thursday, giving Mr Milo a good run on the beach and eating fish and chips out of the paper on the sea front, as long as it doesn't rain!!!!!!!!!

On Holiday but going nowhere!

Well for the first time in years I am on holiday but not going away!!

I finished work this thursday at 9am and I am not back at work for ten whole days, yipee!!!!!

Thing is what do I do with all that free time, I mean I can only walk the dog so much, I can only do so much cleaning, have got no DIY to do and nothing needs decorating!

But I bet you the time will fly by and before I know it I will be setting my alarm for that 5am wake up!
Well as I will not be going away I thought that through the week I would post a few photos of previous places I have visited.

This is a photo of 'The Angel of the North'

The 208-tonne “Angel” basically takes the form of a human figure based on artist Antony Gormley's own body.

At 20 metres high, the Angel is higher than a five-storey building. Its wings are 54 metres wide - almost the same as a jumbo jet.
Overlooking the A1 at Gateshead, at least 90,000 motorists a day will pass by the sculpture. Rail passengers travelling on the East Coast mainline from London to Edinburgh will also see the angel as they approach Newcastle.
It is made of weather resistant steel, containing copper, which forms a patina on the surface that mellows with age.
Below the structure are massive concrete piles 22 metres deep anchoring it to the solid rock beneath.
The body is hollow to allow for internal inspections with an access door high up on a shoulder blade.

It is built to last for more than 100 years and withstand winds of more than 100 miles per hour.

So there you have photo number one taken on a five day holiday to Whitley Bay.
