1 - 2 - 3

Things break in three's so they say, well I am inclined to believe it!
1 - The toaster packed in, no worries toasters aren't too dear to buy, so new one bought and toast is now popping up as it should do!!
2 - Washer stopped spinning, well it probably stopped washing as well really! Now looking back we did go to buy a new washer in the January sales LAST year, but hey we came back with a bargain holiday to Tunisia instead, so really I knew the washer was starting to misbehave, and it was on borrowed time! But I am not ready to part with it just yet, I mean washers are not cheap, and this one is getting on in years, but even so I WILL NOT BE BULLIED BY A WASHER! So as I have my white goods insured with British Gas I gave them a ring on Saturday and a very nice man came out on the Monday and low and behold he fixed it there and then, a loose wire on the motor. Yippee, so hopefully we can get another year out of the old cantankerous, noisy washer!
3 - The microwave decided that it was over worked, yes I am ashamed to say I use my microwave a lot! Himself only knows when tea is ready if he hears 'ping, ping, ping'! So a new one had to be bought IMMEDIATELY!!!

Well at least I know I can relax now as that is my three out of the way!

Anyway it's fish and chips for tea tonight, and yes that will be with mushy peas too!!!!!

I am still on my one and only microwave it must about 25 years old and I would be lost without it~ it cost about £500 not long after they were first out~ imagine paying that much I was only able to get it because my gramp had died and my mum gave me some money. It's turned out to be a great way to remember him as I use it most days!

In the past few months we have had to get a new microwave, toaster, vibrator, television and cable box. Life just keeps on happening.

I don't think owt's broken in't kitchen but I generally just pass through getting beer from the fridge - which definitely isn't broken.

The microwave isn't broken either as I put an egg in it when Caz was out 'cause I was hungry. Bloody thing blew up - the egg that is - so I know it's working.

The oven can't be broken 'cause I just had my dinner and there was no ping.

Right, that's my three 'n they're all workin'.

I don't look forward to the day our appliances start to crap out. Considering none of them are more than 4 months old, that better not happen anytime soon!

I don't know about the mushy peas, but I'm up for some fish n chips anytime!

Good for you! Do NOT allow yourself to be bullied by an appliance. My central heating makes me cry but it has had a fault since last March so I am on the verge of insanity with it. I don't suppose your British Gas man had my spare part on him did he? I can feel another cry coming on.

Help me! You Brits confuse me! I always thought tea was a little meal between lunch and supper. You know, like a big snack with lovely things like scones and clotted cream and jam and, of course, tea.

But, you are saying you are having fish and chips and (EWH) mushy peas for tea! I am so confused. Is tea like our supper?

I'll join you for the fish and chips but pass on the mushy peas! That's one thing I really miss...Friday was our fish and chip day. The one meal I requested at Christmas was fish and chips (as I do everytime I'm over), alas it was not to be this time!

tod - he might have had some spare parts secreted away, if he calls again i could always frisk him ;)

cindy - sorry to confuse you, thats just us being us! we have breakfast, then it can be lunch or dinner 12 till 2, then some people call it evening meal, tea or dinner depends where you come from really, and that is anytime after 5pm, we also have supper but that is a late evening snack!
you will be thinking of 'afternoon tea' thats what the posh folk call a few sandwiches and cakes, hope this clears it up for you!

beccy - what they didn't get you fish and chips! i would have stamped my feet and had a tantrum!

Also, that baby has either had his first ass-wipe or has just notice where his firs meal is coming from.

I don't like the mushy peas thing, but the fish and chips are good... Mr. J and I ate Indian food.

Hope all is well... watch out for the Washers!!! LOL

I loved your explanation of "Tea." We call our evening meal "tea" as well but then we are common as muck. Lol!

and mushy peas are a crime against humanity.
