Its Nearly Time

I really can't believe how quick this year has gone, so quick that it is nearly time, you all think I am going to say that it is nearly time for Christmas don't you? Go on admit it that's what you thought I was on about!

Well WRONG! No not wrong that it is nearly Christmas, cause that is true, but I don't get excited about that until Biddie gets the Christmas Village out!

Oh sorry you still have no idea what I am rambling on about do you? I have a tendency to do this, just ask Himself!

OK, OK it is only 13 weeks, yes 13 weeks might seem like eons to you but honestly from when we first talked about it, then booked it, believe me IT IS NEARLY TIME!

FOR OUR HOLIDAY TO AMERICA

It was way back here when we booked it and I really thought it would never get any closer, and now it is getting closer I am getting more and more excited, but also I am feeling a wee bit scared.

Not too scared about the driving, well yes just a little bit, I love driving but the thought of driving in San Francisco on our first day is a bit scary, as it will also be rush hour, and our bed time!

The thing that I am a bit apprehensive about, OK I am very apprehensive about this, is being in Las Vagas! God it looks so bloody BIG!!!
Now the bad news is that next week we have to go and pay for the holiday, now that is really bad timing having to pay all that money so near to Christmas! But hey it will be worth having saved all year. So I really don't mind that Santa might miss me this year, honest I don't!
Oh well off to check that the money is still in the bank!
p.s. I did say it was nearly time, but it is still 13 weeks away, it's just that we booked it sooooo long ago, oh well only 13 more weeks to go!

Why?

Why am I soooooo tired?
Why when you are sooooooo tired you can't sleep at night time huh?!
Why does someone keep moving the letters around on my key board? Do you know how hard it is to type words wehn this happens!
Why do weeds grow in my garden, I mean I spend money buying plants, potting them in rich soil, I water them when it's hot, but still they die, yet the sodding weeds are free, I never water them, I stand on them, Mr Milo pees on them so WHY do they live?!
Why when a snail loses its shell doesn't it just become a slug?!
Why can't we cry under water?!
OK enough WHYS lets have some truths:
6 Truths of Life
  1. You can not touch all of your teeth with your tongue!
  2. All idiots after reading this first truth, try it!
  3. The first truth is a lie!
  4. You're smiling now because you are an idiot!
  5. You soon will tell this to another idiot!
  6. There's still a stupid smile on your face!
So sorry if I dont get round to reading all of your lovely blogs but I really am very tired.

Anger

I dropped the car off for it's service, when I went to collect it I noticed one tyre didn't have a shiny bit in the middle, yeah that wheel thingy bit, you know the thing I mean don't you?

So after a 30 minute wait a manager eventually came and told me that they had had to put on my spare tyre as I had puncture, well there was a great big nail stuck in the tyre, so yes I am glad they changed the tyre but so angry that they neglected to tell me when I collected the keys.

Oh guess what himself has had for Christmas, (yes he has had his present early), Sky +, I love it! It is sooooo clever, and soooooo easy to use, mmmm that's his present, mustn't tell him how much I am enjoying it!

But get this, I had a new toy too a Vax Carpet Washer, and he thinks that that is my Christmas present, yeah right, he gets to sit down and enjoy his present and I get to clean the carpets in the house! I DON'T THINK SO!

So for the Garage and himself thing about what I might do when I get ANGRY!

Sometimes when you are angry with someone, it helps to sit down and think about the problem

I Do Not Know Your Name

I do not know your name, but I know you died
I do not know from where you came, but I know you died
Your uniform, branch of service, it matters not to me
Whether Volunteer or Conscript, or how it came to be
That politicians failures, or some power-mad ambition
Brought you too soon to your death, in the name of any nation
You saw, you felt, you knew full well, as friend and foe were taken
By bloody death, that your life too, was forfeit and forsaken
Yet on you went and fought and died, in your close and private hell
For Mate or Pal or Regiment and memories never to tell
It was for each other, through shot and shell, the madness you endured
Side by side, through wound and pain, and comradeship assured
No family ties, or bloodline link, could match that bond of friend
Who shared the horror and kept on going, at last until the end
We cannot know, we were not there, it's beyond our comprehension
To know the toll that battle brings, of resolute intention
To carry on, day by day, for all you loved and hoped for
To live in peace a happy life, away from bloody war
For far too many, no long life ahead, free of struggle and pain and the gun
And we must remember the price that was paid, by each and every one
Regardless of views, opinions aside, no matter how each of us sees it
They were there and I cannot forget, even though I did not live it
I do not know your name, but I know you died
I do not know from where you came, but I know you died.

I found this poem, i found it very moving and wanted to share, it has a copy right so not really sure if I am allowed to post.

Male or Female?!

Objects can be Male or Female, here are a few to show you:

FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them.

PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off it takes a while to warm them up again.
They are an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can also wreak havoc if you push the wrong Buttons.

TIRES: Tires are male, because they go bald easily and are often over inflate

HOT AIR BALLOONS: Also a male object, because to get them to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under their butt! yeah I know you man out there are going to say it should be a female object!

SPONGES: These are female, because they are soft, squeezable and retain water.
WEB PAGES:
Female, because they're constantly being looked at and frequently getting hit on.

TRAINS: Definitely male, because they always use the same old lines for picking up people.

EGG TIMERS: Egg timers are female because, over time, all the weight shifts to the bottom.

HAMMERS: Male, because in the last 5000 years, they've hardly changed at all, and are occasionally handy to have around.

THE REMOTE CONTROL: Female. Ha! You probably thought it would be male, but consider this: It easily gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know which buttons to push, he just keeps trying

Keys to Longevity

Thought you might have had enough of the Scotland photos so here is something completely different!

Keys to longevity
One day I saw a wonderful old gal sitting on her front step, so I walked up to her and said, "I couldn't help noticing how happy you look! What is your secret for such a long, happy life?"

"I smoke ten stogies a day," she said. "Before I go to bed, I smoke a nice big joint. All my life I've eaten only junk food and I put away at least a fifth of Jack Daniels every week. On weekends I pop pills, and never do any exercise at all."
Absolutely, absolutely amazing, I thought, and asked, "How old are you?"
"Twenty-four," she replied.

ps if you don't already read Chopski, please call over he has written me something that is fantastic!

Scotland - Part 1

Jedburgh Abbey - was our first stop.

the Fourth Bridge over the Firth! This is two bridges running parrell, the train bridge and the road bridge.

I just love the autumn colours, this is the road to Loch Ness

My first view of Loch Ness

Loch Ness is 23 miles long and 1 mile wide, its deepest point is 754 feet.

and for all of those who doubted her here is the lovely Nessie!

We had a little stroll to see the Falls of Foyers

and then a little rest!

Next was Fort Augustus, by now the rain was setting in so we only managed a quick look round here, a view of one of the many ladder of locks on the Caladonian Canal!

on the edge of Loch Ness is Urquhart Castle, again due to the heavy rain we did not manage walk round here

Ben Nevis was not visable at all sorry, but one of my favourate places in Scotland is the Pass of Glencoe

Hope you have enjoyed the little tour of the Highlands in Scotland, a few more photos to show you of Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle.
