Its Nearly Time

I really can't believe how quick this year has gone, so quick that it is nearly time, you all think I am going to say that it is nearly time for Christmas don't you? Go on admit it that's what you thought I was on about!

Well WRONG! No not wrong that it is nearly Christmas, cause that is true, but I don't get excited about that until Biddie gets the Christmas Village out!

Oh sorry you still have no idea what I am rambling on about do you? I have a tendency to do this, just ask Himself!

OK, OK it is only 13 weeks, yes 13 weeks might seem like eons to you but honestly from when we first talked about it, then booked it, believe me IT IS NEARLY TIME!

FOR OUR HOLIDAY TO AMERICA

It was way back here when we booked it and I really thought it would never get any closer, and now it is getting closer I am getting more and more excited, but also I am feeling a wee bit scared.

Not too scared about the driving, well yes just a little bit, I love driving but the thought of driving in San Francisco on our first day is a bit scary, as it will also be rush hour, and our bed time!

The thing that I am a bit apprehensive about, OK I am very apprehensive about this, is being in Las Vagas! God it looks so bloody BIG!!!
Now the bad news is that next week we have to go and pay for the holiday, now that is really bad timing having to pay all that money so near to Christmas! But hey it will be worth having saved all year. So I really don't mind that Santa might miss me this year, honest I don't!
Oh well off to check that the money is still in the bank!
p.s. I did say it was nearly time, but it is still 13 weeks away, it's just that we booked it sooooo long ago, oh well only 13 more weeks to go!

Tod's Top Vegas Tip:

Once you get there, park the car and leave it there. Don't try to drive around Vegas, it is too congested. Take the monorail or walk between hotels or get a cab.

Vegas will blow you away!

Wow, you are going to some places I am still trying to get to...

But, Kate, I thought we discussed this and you were coming to Texas! ;-)

I really wish you were coming to Atlanta. Marni and Sweet Tea and I could really show y’all a good time.

Las Vegas isn't as big as you think it is. The glitzy area is only about three or four miles long and a couple of miles wide. But it is fun, and, if you think about it, amazing as to the amount of money flowing though that place.

Have a great time. Are you flying straight thru to California, or are you stopping over to change planes? Enquiring minds want to know.

I can't believe your not visiting Arkansas! LOL ;-)

cindydiane - I would love to visit all of America, so will have to start saving after this one is out of the way then huh?

Coffeypot - we fly from Machester to Heathrow then direct to San Francisco, the hardest part will be driving from the airport to the hotel after a long flight, and in rush hour! thats another one for the hubby to do the first drive!

I managed to drive the wrong way down a dual carriageway in Orlando. No-one gave me a second glance, I think the locals must have been used to it!

Plus you will be driving on the correct side of the road, and sitting on the opposite side of the car from what you are use to. GOOD LUCK!

You'll be fine driving in the US. It's slower. Much slower. I still can't be believe that a North American, with our wiiiiide roads and cushy cars, can get off a plane in England, go straight to the rental car place, get into a quick little car and blast it down the highways so much faster than the legal limit they're used to, opposite side of the road, opposite side of the car, with roundabouts and very short turn off lanes...and not get killed. My husband LOVES driving in England because it's like a video game! Whoooo!

Vegas? Oh, sounds like fun.
Guess what?
The village is up and running!
Whoo Hoo!
Is this Vegas trip gonna interfere with the upcoming one to my neck of the woods? I hope not.

Well, don't worry about lunch when you arrive in San Francisco, 'cause I'm buyin'!

Tell me when you arrive, k?

You are going to have an awesome time! I'm already looking forward to your adventures.

I was going to give you the same advice that Tod did. I would just add that you should wear pants with an elastic band because of all the good food and drinks you'll get.

Who's your rental car with? If you're using Enterprise, why don't you take a cab or see if the hotel has a shuttle from the airport, then get your rental car later. Enterprise will bring you a car, I think.

katy said...

chopski - how the hell did you manage that one!

coffeypot - yep cheer me up then lol, no worries really about the driving on the other side of the road or a left hand drive HONEST

cynnie- we dont gamble either, but will have a go, i mean you just have to huh!
