Scotland - Part 1

Jedburgh Abbey - was our first stop.

the Fourth Bridge over the Firth! This is two bridges running parrell, the train bridge and the road bridge.

I just love the autumn colours, this is the road to Loch Ness

My first view of Loch Ness

Loch Ness is 23 miles long and 1 mile wide, its deepest point is 754 feet.

and for all of those who doubted her here is the lovely Nessie!

We had a little stroll to see the Falls of Foyers

and then a little rest!

Next was Fort Augustus, by now the rain was setting in so we only managed a quick look round here, a view of one of the many ladder of locks on the Caladonian Canal!

on the edge of Loch Ness is Urquhart Castle, again due to the heavy rain we did not manage walk round here

Ben Nevis was not visable at all sorry, but one of my favourate places in Scotland is the Pass of Glencoe

Hope you have enjoyed the little tour of the Highlands in Scotland, a few more photos to show you of Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle.

The hills are a wonderful colour. Did you get to see them in the sunshine? But mist does suit Scotland......
I have been over the Firth Fourth Bridge, and along the Borders - I must get further north!
